I saw them on a popular Home improvment stores website for 39.99 for the rubber handle models and 42.97 for the leather handles. Still haven't seen any sheath pics but hopefully someone will get one soon and post up a review.

I'd love to hear what they are like. I was hopeing that I'd be able to handle one before I got it but it looks like they will probably be online only for a while.

My estwing double bit axe arrived today over all I like it. the exposed handle is flatter than a framing hammer but, It feels real close to my 22oz framing hammer in my hand It is sharp enough to cut greens out of the garden like a knife. I was harvesting collards for tomorrow . I don't think it will take much to get it shaving sharp. I took a few hacks at a maple that we are cutting later this winter anyway, it threw chips/chunks and did not stick like a axe should. Now for the problem the sheath does not fit I called them, they have called me back 3 times, seems some of the Blue sheaths won't fit they went to the warehouse and opened and tried several hawks and axes and it was only some the blue sheaths
They offered to next day air one that fit to me so I would have it friday morning I declined and ask to ship regular mail
I understand start up problems, and am happy with the attention the gave the problem
And it seems to be limited to the blue sheaths

Thought they'd do a leather sheath but it's looks like good nylon. Can't wait to see reviews on preformance with use and abuse.

I have been looking all over for these to be available can you email me a link to where you found them?

I ordered it from home depot online

A properly convexed axe shouldn't stick or at least it shouldn't stick very easily or very well.

That is what I mean It does not stick It throws chunks out It cuts like an ax should

I see they make a tomahawk too, in both blue & black & with leather handle. They also offer the double bit in blue & black & with leather handle. Cool !!!!

That looks awesome. I'll have to pick one of those up. Estwing axes are some of the best values out there.

I just ordered one one, stacked leather handle. I also ordered a leather sheath for one I have, that gave me free shipping. Like getting the sheath for free. I've got 4 other Estwing hatchets w/ leather and 3 or 4 of their leather handles hammers. They are indestructible. I just have thing for stacked leather....

My stacked leather thing...

I'll have to post pictures of my Estwings later.

Thanks for looking, Tom

I am a fan of stacked leather too, I am sharpening my buddies rubber handled Ka-Bar at this moment and I was just telling him an hour ago I have no idea why I never got a stacked leather one. I also missed out on the bark river manitou, not in production any more. You need an M3 trench knife for your collection though. :)

that was a real great idea for somebody to finally make a Stacked Leather Tomahawk, I looked on Homey Depot's website and it looks like they don't carry these in stores, it's only for online order?:stupid::sleeping:

I wish they would make a stacked leather handle for their 26" Axe or maybe black handle instead of just having a blue handle.

I just came back from HD. Not in our store yet. Nobody knows nothing about them there. May be an on-line only thing ???
