I got the Estwing Tomahawk in all Black today, very good deal for $39.95, I have read some good post and some bad, I think most of the bad has not had it in their hands. The thing is big but not to big and I like the point and the blade is actually sharp but because of the coating you think it is not. I like it alot and for $39.95 It is a great deal. Sorry no pics but others have posted pics here. I will be picking up more of these in the future, great job! Estwing!

Well I am an old Army Retiree so I buy a full black tomahawk? (Cool Thing to have) for me it is more of a tool thing! I may never use it at all but for $39.95 it is great for lookin at.

Good enough for me! I keep wondering if people will buy them for "tactical" purposes.

If I was still on Active Duty yes I would buy it to take across the big pond! It will work just fine and it is priced at a lower rank grunts budget. To be honest I was thinkin about a $298.00 Tomahawk from an online knife dealer but after seeing the Estwing for $39.95 no way was I buying that other Tomahawk. Alot of folks have made comments about the point, I like it, it is a distal taper point, it is pointy and will pierce stuff very easy. I would not want to get hit with it. I do think Estwing's thought was for that to be used as a window breaker but yes it will work very well on a skull too! Bottom line, the Estwing Tomahawk would make a Soldier or Marine, Navy SEAL or a SWAT team member very happy.

Ive been waiting for these to come out. For the price it looks like a good piece, looks heavy but indestructible. My last hawk that was in the price range is broken in the garage.

I was just talking to a customer/friend of mine and he was telling me about his impression of the new Estwings which he had picked up recently (no--not from me; they're only available through the HD site right now) and his take on them was very favorable. He hasn't gotten to put them through their paces yet but I imagine I'll hear from him when he does. He was quite stricken with how nicely balanced the 'hawk is.

Those look cool. Looks like a good deal. American made too. The handle would look nice with a good paracord wrap. Maybe a hollowed out cord in a criss cross patern.

Yes, nice review. I was just eyeballing one of those single edged ones last weekend at the hardware store. I was noticing how nice the leather handle looked.

Looking deadly! I was iffy but I think I may pick up a double bit whenever they arrive here is Canad'eh.

HarryEpstein is now selling the stacked leather versions of the Black Eagle tomahawk and double bit.

I was going to comment why would u buy that just to look at, but in that case, look who's talking lolol......

I want to correct one thing I said, I said the point is a distal taper and well that is wrong but it does taper from back to front of the point, I gues you could call it a diamond cut, none the less the point is well pointy and I think it will work well. I plan on taking the coating off the edge and bringing the edge out a little more. I am thinking with a few minutes of work it will cut paper.
