I dont get on here as often as id like. Does anyone know, no that shot is over when the Machax will be available?

This question was brought up on BCUSA and the answer is the same: I read somewhere on the interwebs that, according to Mr. Becker, the Brute was created during a bad period of time in his (Becker's) life. The knife reminds him of those bad times, thus the knife will not be brought back into production. Sorry to bear the bad news. I had one, a Camillus, with the micarta grips. It was my first chopper....I regret parting with it. Hope this helps.

the Brute is likely to come back. not this year. maybe not next year. maybe not another year. though some say 2013. i'm beting 2014. it won't be the same Brute though. it will be better ;)

the Machax official release party is Feb 1, however, that's not when it's going to be available to purchase. i believe they have knives piling up, but are waiting on their sheath shipment. could be a week or two yet.

tweener/shorts are still scheduled for april 1st, with sheaths arriving mid-march so they can get them out. we'll see.

and yes, the patrol machete... same deal as the nuBrute. 2013ish. probably not earlier. indeed, not.

isn't this in a FAQ or something? :)

Were waiting on sheaths????????? I don't need no stinking sheaths, Gimme my Machaxes!!! Waiting sucks, waiting on a sheath from china makes me want grab a Brute and go break stuff.
 
Here's my suggestion: buy a BK-7 and take every opportunity to get out into the bush to use it. Build shelters, build camp furniture, carve camp utensils, buld traps, prep wood for endless fires. All of a sudden, sit up and realize it's April 2012. Log onto the intertubes for the first time in three months, and see if KA-BAR has gotten any of the new toys out to dealers. If so, great, buy them. If not, get back otu into the bush and have more fun with your BK-7. June comes along, get back onto a computer. Etc. Repeat until such a time as you can actually obtain the toys that as of now I consider to be entirely mythical. you will have spent that time wisely.
 
Not a bad idea, except that I don't like the 7. Don't really have a logical reason why other than the shape doesn't make me all warm and fuzzy and I have Machaxes already. I just want more, I'm greedy that way.:D
