I didnt see a thread that showed how to do this so I took a few pics.

I started out with the BK15 and some PCB etchant. I used an eye dropper to put the pcb on the logos. Let it sit for 1 hour. Then rinse off keeping it away from the edge. I hit it with a toothbrush while Im doing this. Repeat about 6 times per side.

Here is a BK9 and a Junglas that Im working on now. Notice the etchant just pooled up on the logos.

After 6-8 treatments at 1 hour each the logos were etched pretty deep. I did my standard kleenstrip gel treatment.

After 5 mins you can see the coating bubbling up

Scrapes right off

And here is the etched logo, not sure if you can tell in the pics but it is nice and crisp instead of real faint if you dont etch.

Thanks for posting this. It's hard to tell some of my etched BK's are even BK's anymore after I've stripped them and added a patina. I like the stamped versions better just because the logo's don't disappear...ever. I leave the coating on under the handles so I don't get rust though. I just leave the zytel scales on when I strip them.
