I want to etch and stone wash one of my leeks, and I was wondering if the pcb etchant will work on this one. I tried a different acid (jasco metal etch, which is phosphoric acid) for about 20 minutes and nothing happened (blessing in disguise, as I didn't think to protect the pivot or lock area) so I want to make sure that the radio shack stuff will work.

Thanks!

Lol. I was just wondering if the PCB stuff will etch the steel that the blade is made out of.

I was going to try the same thing with my Cold Steel Lawman. I was pleasantly surprised that the finish under the black coating was stonewashed, so I left it as is. I don't see why it would'nt. I see that many people have used it on just about all forms of steel on here. Good luck with your project!

IIRC, Kershaw has actually acid etched some leeks :) Specifically, the composite leek. The acid etching had a major effect on the D2 edge, but didn't do much to the 14C28N spine. I'm sure it will work if you leave it in the acid long enough...
