That looks like a great little user! Do you hot stamp your blades or cold with a press?

I cold stamp them. I initially intended to hot stamp but was advised not to by a welding wizard friend of mine. He often "marks" his weld for quality control purposes with a stamp while the weld is still hot and noted that the service life of his stamps were reduced. My associate, "Tony" (see below) reasoned that hot stamping reduces the service life of hardened stamps because hot stamping removes the temper.

Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment - good question.

Cool, I just built a press this week, but was not happy with how deep it was cold pressing knife blades, maybe I just need a longer jack handle! :D
I figured hot pressing may temper the stamp if it was left on to long, I rigged my press with springs to quickly drop the jack so the contact would be for a shorter period of time.

wooow that thing looks like itd last 10 lifetimes
