Worked on this last weekend, and thought some of you might enjoy seeing some pics. After etching the logos and stripping the bronze coating, I used a green scotch pad to clean it. That's it.

Great work, that looks awesome! I plan to eventually just wear the bronze coating off of mine.

Definitely looks like a different blade to me...

I like the bronze...

But I LOVE the satin you uncovered...that custom shop etch looks especially sharp...heck, your treatment even classed up the Tribal Tramp Stamp !

Who'da Thunk you could get a stripper nekkid and she'd become more presentable??? I'd be proud to take HER home to Mom NOW ! ;)

Best etching job I've seen in a while. Would love to know what u used. Looks great.

Looks fantastic.
Great job.

Did you put some paint or something in the etch marks when it was done ?

Also did you satin finish it ?

Thanks all!

More info - for the etching and stripper I bought solutions on Amazon, just looked for highly-rated products. I cut a large clear plastic cup in half and resized to formed little "half-cups" for each side. Tried hot gluing but the half-cups came right off with the etching solution. Ended up using a combination of the half-cups, painters tape and duct tape. Still a little loss of fluid over time, but it was easy to add more fluid as needed. Used a painting tray and kept the knife upside down over the tray. Recycled etching fluid from the tray as needed and passed a soft toothbrush over the etching area every 30-60 minutes. Got my wife to help out. Probably had the etching process going for 30 hours or so with frequent check-ups. There's no paint in the etching area, just cleaned the etched area well with q-tips, alcohol, wood toothpicks. The dark etch color could probably be removed with some abrasion but the contrast is what I want, so I'm leaving it alone. The strip process was the easy part.

Next time try plumbers putty, you press it to the blade and it's water tight. Easy peasy
