Etched makers mark and bluing?

I need to start marking my blades and am considering building an elctro etching machine using the power supply from an old computer I have. (or I am considering buying a stamp and building a press)

Since I often use cold blue on some of my blades does anyone know what happens to an etched makers mark if cold blue is applied over it? (If it makes the mark unreadable I suppose I could mask off an area for the mark but I'm not sure how that would look on a blade.)

Silent, I am useing a Personalizer etcher and I have blued a couple of blades.

I had a stencile made by Marking methouds, and the way I do my mark is to etch it in for almoust 2 minits, that shortens the life of the stencils somewhat, but I get a mark that apears to be stamped in, and wont' wear off or be turned invisible by blueing or etching on damascus. And since most of my blades are carbon steel, a carless customer letting a blade rust up won't eradicat it eigther.

I most often have a shadow around my mark that has to be buffed again. On a hand rubed blade I etch my mark between 600 grit rubings.

I probably would have gone with a stamp, but I like the diffnt' sizes of stencils and that I can place them very esily just where I want to and no double stamps.

Hope this helps.
