I'm brand new to this space and have gotten the basics down. I'm looking to try out an acid etch on a blade I plan on working on. My plan is to make a reverse stencil and spray the blade with 2 coats of high temp spray paint, then leave only the area I want etched exposed to a solution of 1 part muriatic acid and 2 parts hydrogen peroxide. Will this type of paint act as a decent resistor for 20 minute intervals of etching and this solution safe to use for 1095? Thanks in advance for any help.

That should work. I don't use that method, but most spray paint will work as a resist. Test it on some scrap metal. Make sure you let it full dry!
