Etching Gibeon

Any tips on etching solutions for gibeon? I heard that my typical solution of ferric chloride can cause a long term problem with continual etching??? Any experience will be appreciated, thanks, SquareD

Nitric works best for etching. There is also aqua regena that can be bought at suplly houses like Rio Grande that work very good. These are dangerous chemicals so read the material data saftey sheets first and PLEASE be carefull!!

thank you Darrel, can you give me a way to contact places that would have these products? Last time i tried to buy some nitric locally, i had to buy a 2 litre bottle. that is way to much acid for me to have around. Need some small quantities. Ever heard of using the nitric in alcohol? That was one suggestion i heard. Thanks

Nope havent heard that one Here Rios number . They carry small amounts of most of the deadly stuff we use.. hahahha
