Hi guys, I need some advice. Just made my first attempt at etching. First with gun blue. Watched several youtube videos, followed directions and zippo. Turned out aweful. Most wiped off what was left is very uneven and blotchy.
Yesterday tried vinegar etch. Again followed directions, cleaned blade, heated vinegar, left blade in overnight. Took it out this am, very black until I tried to wipe dry , then off it came! What am I missing? Any help appreciated.
