Going to change from a stamp for my blades to an etched logo. Anyone have opinions on a system. I have looked at the Personalizer and Personalizer Plus, but know there are others out there. Also, can anyone point me in a direction of someone who makes the custom stencils, or can I purchase the material and make my own on a computer? I'm new to this etching process. Thanks!!

I have been using a machine from Marking Methods for quite some time. Many of the custom makers that I know use the same machine. I find that it works very well, giving consistant, professional looking logos on most any material. They will supply you with everything that you need; the machine itself, custom made logos, chemicals, etc. I have also found this company to be pretty helpful with solving problems that may occur with logoing special materials. Also they have blank stencil material to experiment with. If you call 1-800-765-4404 they will send you an info package.

Ron Claiborne (bowie2002@comcast.net) sells a very nice etching machine at a fair price, I'd highly recommend contacting him and checking out one of his machines. Not only is it a nice machine that produces crisp etch marks, but by buying one of his you're helping support a fellow knifemaker! :)
