etching my Junglas

So, I took a look at the PCB Etchant Solution at Radio Shack, but didn't really want to buy that much. I saw that it's ferric chloride and hydrochloric acid. I have some old hydrochloric acid from home depot, and was wondering if I could just use that instead. Will it etch the metal? will it eat through the blade coating, messing up the etch? Thanks!

Hydrochloric acid and tin foil can be used to make a bomb in a sealed container. Outside of a sealed container it will smoke like crazy. I wouldn't use it.
