Etching questions....

I made the electronic etcher that people were posting about some time ago. Works great. Need to test it a bit more on stuff I dont care about, but it looks to work well. My question is this. Do I want to etch the blade without the slabs on the knife? Also do I need to etch before or after I put the guard on?

I etch as the absolute last operation before the knife is shipped that way if extra work is required the etch is not screwed up.

Michael are you talking about the radio shack special!!! So it is working good then huh? I bought all my stuff the other day and finished drilling the holes in the box to mount all the switches. I am having a hard time soldering all the little wires. Had to get the reading glasses out to see.

Hope to get it all together tomarrow or next day. I played with a battery charger before I decided to buy this stuff. It works to but does not turn the mark black because of ac voltage I guess.

What about putting a potetiometor (sp) in it to vary the voltage??? Kind of like the personalizer plus or something.
