Apparently my dad is not the only one who just throws diesel everywhere to start a fire. Campfire , brush fire, forest fire, eh doesn't matter we need more diesel. Looks like a BK chainsaw in the second pic. Fire is always good, bigger fires are gooder.

Sweet cant wait to meet Uncle Ethan! Thanks for helping him get ready for all of us Moose!

Can I help build a fire when I get up that way? :D *snickers at the thought of the forest melting over night*

Oh, that was just the "base" burn pile, we heaped about 3 times that on top of it as we went. If we'd a stacked it all on there, NASA would have called us.

So, we cleared off enough space for about 30 folks give or take to hammock/tent up there. We have another pile to burn off at the "backup" site as well.

There is going to be quite a few folks there this time, more than last me thinks.

Hehehe...yep, I'll fell for that. I thought we were going to get some sage advice on fire starting.

Moose - if too many folks show up and E runs out of room, I've got dibs on the "tree house". :D

Um, no.

Ethan is currently in talks with the current property owner, trying to work a deal out to where a couple of folks might be able to. So far, the talks are not going well, and no matter how much Ethan tries to gain the upperhand in negotiations, his opposition is quite tough.

We'll see what Susan says.

I carried her furniture up the hill in order to "save their marriage" AND rearranged her foo dogs...
I can also bribe her with homemade 98% organic soaps & lip balm... :D
(OK, I'll bring her those anyway, because she's letting us come play on her hillside)

I'll be sure to forward your additional options to the deal along to Ethan and his lawyer.

Evidently, it has changed from a negotiation to "legal matter". It would seem your additional influx of revenues might bring this back to the table.

The "septic system" in SE Asia consisted of the bottom 1/3 of a 55-gallon drum that was dragged out of the back hatch of the outhouse. Papa-San would then fill the remaining space in the drum with diesel and light it. Ah-h-h -- like the smell of oriental jasmine.
When all was consumed and cool, the ashes would be dumped out back and the cycle resumed.

The sage advice is using diesel fuel not gasoline.

Big Mike

thats the truth, u cant trust gasoline as firestarter lol diesel is the way to go. Or used motor oil. and a couple old tires to get the brush going good. EPA dont like that though...burn at night, cant see smoke LOL

Yeah when we were kids

RR ties -- burn so hot you almost can't see the flame.
Do NOT be in the way when the creosote melts and jets out the end of the tie like a giant bic lighter...
