Ethan Becker in Nepal?

The other day I was able to interview Mr. Himal, owner of Ex Gurkha Khukuri House.
While I was spending time with Mr. Himal, I had to show him some of my Becker knives... He said that he believed Ethan was in his shop in Nepal, and purchased two khukuris!?
He said he could be wrong, but he believes the mans name was Ethan Becker...

Can we get any confirmation on this!? LOL

I don't believe that the visit was recent... but it would be cool to know none the less! I can't help but hope that it is true! lol

I am truly sorry to report that I did not have the pleasure of a trip to Nepal and a visit to one of the shrines of Kukridom..... Alas, my travels have never gotten closer to Nepal than Thailand...... Damn, damn, and double damn....

"Damn, damn, and double damn"...any chance that's a reference to A Bit of Fry and Laurie on BBC in the 80's?

There's still time. You know you want to go there... ;)

(incidentally, should you indeed decide to go to Nepal to visit Kukridom and perhaps require a body-guard or baggage-carrier or just a big goofy dude to distract attention ... I'm available and I work cheap...)

I wonder who there was pretending to be Ethan Becker and where else he could have been.

Could start a new trend.

Whoever happens to visit blade smiths in remote areas could introduce himself as Ethan Becker. Just to add to the mystery and increase the confusion some years down the road when they or friends and family happen to somehow be in the Internet and don't remember the face and only the name.

Sorry to have been gone so long after this thread!
It's a bummer that it was you!

I think if business goes well with Mr Himal that I may be able to visit the khukuri mecca, if I do I'll have to take pictures and post them up.
