Hi,

Have a chance to buy/trade for a EU 17. I was wondering what they sold for originally and what they were going for on the secondary market? How many were made? Has anyone used theirs? How do you like it?

Not sure of the exact available but I believe there were less than 40. Price was just under $300.00. Have seen them advertised for $400.00 and up. What they're actually selling for though, is another matter.

Do a search for the thread, it ought to have the original selling price. As to how many were made or made available to the public, I am not sure.

if I'm not mistaken,, on the standard EU-17's, there were 37 avalible for the public, and the price was $267.00 each, and if you buy three then the third was about $169.00 ...if i remember correctly.

I have a magnum and it is a very nice blade. The handle is very effective in both grips.

I am thinking of looking into a regular sized one too. Once I find out if I like it more than the other three on my list.

Mine has helped take apart some trash trees that were trying to crush my fence. Very comfortable grip in chopping/twisting. Blade doesn't have quite the power in a chop that a Steel Heart has (unless you choke way back), but more than an Outlaw. Good ol' desert finish, of course, stands up to quite a beating--though I wouldn't be able to convince anybody it was new now. I loved this knife when it first came out, so when I saw one I snagged it and then IMMEDIATELY went out and split some kindling with it, so the mint condition value it achieved wouldn't talk me into something stupid like selling it. My favorite Busse is still the one Jerry made for me, but this is a close second. :)

My Magnum has chopped its way through all sorts of things, and I love the handle!

I hope you get the knife.
