Eugene Shadley makes a top notch slip joint we all know. He also makes a really sweet little fixed blade. I sent this one off to Paul Long in Kerrville, TX for a sheath and then I took it to Terry Theis in Harper, TX for some engraving. Both Texas Hill Country gentlemen. I just picked it up from Terry this morning. There were goats and chickens wandering around the yard. The knife is about 6 1/4 inches long with some nice stag. The engraving sets off the whole package I do believe. I have forgotten what the blade steel is. Seems like it was AT127CSPM34-15430vS or something like that. :D

That's a fine lookin' knife there, Rob.

Looks like it'll get 'er done (and look good doing it!).

I'm on Shadley's list for a slipjoint or two but I'm a couple years out if I remember correctly. I'm looking forward to it.

While humorous I think it also points out the fact that there are SO many good steels to choose from!

Rob,

What a neat package. The stag of course is first rate but to me what trips my trigger is the engraving. Very well done and just the "right" look for this knife. And what can you say about that sheath! I have long admired Mr Long's sheath making ability

That's a great looking knife, and with the engraving and a sheath from Paul? That's like hitting the lottery!

You say it's "some nice stag" That's being on the massively modest side! It's some fearsome bark on that one, top knife there.

Rob, that's a beauty. The engraving really adds to an already fine knife. makes it just 'come alive'. Outstanding. i suppose there's no chance it ever might show up in the "For Sale" forum.

It is rare that the knife, the sheath, and the engraving would do so well, with such a large committee!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Wow that's a keeper Rob! I'm a small fixed blade fan and that one is a knock out!

Terrific package all the way, Rob. Was Mr. Theis able to sign somewhere on the knife, as well?

Very fine knife. Top shelf all the way through. Everyone involved in that one should be proud of their work. Nice vision on how you wanted that knife to look.

I thought I had lost this picture but found it a few minutes ago. Here is the knife before engraving and with the original sheath.

Having that "before" shot is really telling, Rob. Greatly illustrates just how well that engraving dresses up the knife.:cool:

That is truly beautiful Rob. Striking before and a work of art after.

The sheath and the engraving certainly accent a beautifully made knife. Thanks for the pics.
