I always try to make the show to see the spydie protos. This this year is great with many exciting possibilities on the table. One in particular is a cf para2 with thicker contoured handles. It felt AMAZING. But Sal said they would make the handles in standard thickness if produced. I was begging him to consider keeping the extra thickness but he said in his experience spydie customers prefer work knives to be thinner in the pocket, thicker doesn't sell. I think a run in thicker handles would make it more special for the type of folks who would pony up extra $$ for cf scales. But what do the forumites think about that?

The PM2 is already pushing the size limits of what I like to carry. I'm sure others wouldn't mind a little larger handle, and if the CF is slicker than the G10, then I may not mind it either.

This sounds like the same prototype they had at the BLADE Show last year. Eric commented that he really liked the fluting, but they would thin it out before they finalized the production run. He seemed to like the thickness as well, but acknowledged that it would "ride better in the pocket" if it was thinner.

I'm hoping that we don't have to go another year for this beauty to surface on the market!

Hi Fishface,

Thanx for the thread. Good opportuniuty for discussion. The model is planned as a regular model, not a sprint.

I think a contoured or like 3d machined handle on the pm2 would be awesome! Something like the zt 0560 handles.

Offer it with a flat saber ground blade and count me in. :)

...I know...I know... Every other Para fan would rather die... :(

Sal said two things we can focus on. I’ll interject 4 italicized words that I hope convey accuracy without being presumptuous. This thread offers a “good opportunity for discussion.” And, “The model is planned as a regular model…” So I’ll offer my two cents. The PM2, as stands is as close to “left friendly” as a PM2 can be and still be called by that name. I ask for us left handed knife enthusiasts, that the “friendliness” we have accepted remain and not be compromised. That’s it. I look forward to a PM2+.
