Anyone wondering if there will ever be a pic of the new release?

Someone surely should be able to take a pic of one at Eugene...
Seems I remember reading that the new Swamp Rat release was going to be over there.... anxiously awaiting pictures :p

Oh well... at least there are some more ratmandus out there in the world:) I'm keeping my eye on the exchange for a sage/tan or a sage/black.

good luck, I know a few ratmandus did leave the table on Friday at Eugene. Something will probably turn up in a few days or so.

That was an only an educated guess. It didn't pan out. But Jim spoke to Eric at Knob Creek and found out that the new knife will be made out of . . .

STAINLESS STEEL!

To the best of my knowledge, the next Swamp Rat knife will be the first true stainless steel knife in the history of Busse Combat knives. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Hmmm.... I wonder what that will be...

CPM S30V?
S30V/S60V/S90V?
154CM?
BG42?

My vote is CPM S30V.

Feel free to chime in anywhere Eric :D :D :D

Whatever it is, the Swamp sure did some incredible things with D2 in the past. Whatever comes our way will undoubtedly benefit from some amazing heat treat courtesy of the Wauseon shop.

Bring it, Bully! Er... I mean, BIG CHEEZY!

Of the steels you mentioned, my vote would have to go to 154CM. That's because, some months ago, Dan spoke about the fact that Jerry had bought tons and tons of an undisclosed steel. The steel was designated by "numbers and letters". Furthermore, the numbers (plural) had to precede the letters (plural). The only steel in your list that matches that criterion is 154CM.

Got my vote as well!!!!!!!!!!
154CM is good steel and will hold an edge well. I have a couple of Dead Metal knives that have taken a lot of use and there easy to resharpen. S30V IMO is ok, but for a hard use stainless, I'll take the 154CM anyday over it.
