My Baby came back to me! It's been MIA for almost two years, but the Saturday before last, my Random Task was found! It was hiding in the pocket of a piece of my luggage, which has been stored in our cargo trailer since the last move. As I was making room in our trailer for another move, something told me to inspect the outer pockets of the luggage, and imagine my surprise when I reached in and I felt my beloved Random Task! I didn't even have to see it to know exactly what it was; I about s%#t myself! My Random Task was my first Kershaw Knife, and most definitely my all-time favorite Kershaw Knife. I've tried to fill the void these past months with many other Kershaws, but nothing could replace my Random Task. They say you never forget your first woman, I guess that goes for your first Kershaw as well.

So, happy as a clam, I get ready to get my hone on, when I realize that since I acquired the Random Task in '98, I had never had it apart. Well, I disassemble the knife to find a bunch of rusty crud under the liners against the blade and bushings; oh, how guilty did I feel. A quick clean up, and some freehand honing with a Sharpmaker Fine Rod, and it was good to go. It hasn't been out of my sight since; my Wife even saw me carrying it on the pocket of my PJ's, and give me the ol'.

Oh well, just wanted to share my joy. Here's a few pics. Sorry for the quality of the last pic.

Thanks again for the great design Ken!

Congrats on recovering your Random Task!

Must've been tough knowing it was somewhere around and then seeing all the posts about them lately.

I've lost and found many a knife, but never one as nice as a Random Task.

Congrats!! Thats a great feeling.

Whadda ya mean there's some rusty cru... GAAA! Seriously, congrats on finding your baby. I felt the same when I rediscovered my Grandpa's Schrade Old Timer.
