I don’t know much about the Spyderco Euro Edge.

Spydiewiki has it listed as “regular production”, but I’ve only ever seen it in person one time.

How uncommon is it?

It's pretty uncommon. I haven't seen one for sale since I bought mine over 5 years ago.

It's in my collection because I've collected most (but not all) of the Ed Schempp designed knives that were included in the Spyderco "Ethnic Series."

---------------------------------------------

This is the list of the Ethnic Series as reported by Michel Janich back in 2018 in the official Spyderco Forum:

Laguiole
Bob Lum Tanto Folder
Shabaria
Lum Chinese Folder
Lum Chinese Folder (Large)
Lil’ Lum
Lum Fixed-Blade Tanto
Persian (Large)
Persian (Small)
Persian 2 (Large and Small)
Red-Handled Persian
Kumo
Jot Singh Khalsa
Warren Thomas Karambit
Kris
Barong
Khukuri
Chokwe
Navaja
Puukko
Nilakka
Lil’ Nilakka
Hungarian
KaraHawk
Pattada
EuroEdge
Schempp Bowie
Friction Folder (included in the Ethnic section of the catalog, but with no specific ethnic association)

See: https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?p=1221308&sid=b37e8c5258ad5208a6509e892278435d#p1221308

---------------------------------------------

All of these knives are pretty rare (& uncommon) these days.

I own 19 out of the 28 knives mentioned in this list (plus variations of some of the ones I own as well).

I previously owned a Friction Folder too but sold it because I didn't like it.

---------------------------------------------

There are also at least 3 others that I own that are also considered part of the Ethnic Series including the:

P'Kal (Filipino)
Watu (the smaller variation of the Chowke)
Pattadese (the smaller variation of the Pattada)

This is why your archive is important. I've never seen this model before ;)

One of those models with more fakes than real ones floating around.

The Euro Edge fakes should be pretty obvious.

Never seen a fake of one myself but I imagine that they'd be hard & expensive to duplicate. So, not very profitable compared to faking PM2 & other popular & widely distributed models.

in any event, they're currently openly selling so-called "tribute" model clones of the Euro Edge for around $40 on EB.

I'd like to see a rerelease of this model, garbage "tributes" are not worth anyone's money but the fact there are so many shows there is a demand.
