European Community Cutlery?

I am always on the lookout for a new knife, who isn't? I notice a new brand called "European Community Cutlery". I saw a trapper and a stockman that looked OK. I was wondering who makes them and where is it made. Since we have Marbles, Remington and Smith & Wesson from China, who knows what European Community really means.

So does anyone know about these knives:

Found out it depends on the knife. Some are German, others are Spanish. Wouldn't be surprised if they are made elsewhere as well. The joys of the EU.

Interstingly, I have a box of shotshells (.410), that are marked "Made in the European Community", and I am pretty sure they are Italian.

I noticed that some of the knives are made in Spain and some in Germany. I got a SMKW catalog after I posted and it said the stockman and the trapper are made in Germany, so it looks like you were right afterall. The two knives were originally $24.99. Now they are $19.99. Since I don't know a lot about them, I will wait and see if they drop down a bit more. If they go away, it just wasn't meant for me to get them.

Anybody try one of these yet? Are they all made in Germany?

Found one vendor with some that read "FIRST PRODUCTION RUN SOLINGEN GERMANY." Was thinking about trying one if they have Solingen steel. But "SOLINGEN GERMANY" doesn't necessarily equate with Solingen steel, does it?

Hard to find out much info about this knife.
