I'm exploring the possibility of purchasing a European made axe/hatchet and came upon this website. http://www.dewit.sk/en/eshop#polovnicke-sekery. I'm particularly interested in the Gardening Hatchet and Hunters axe. Does anyone have any knowledge of either DeWit or the Tornado line of axes by Hirjac?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The style appears similar to the other European axe makers. I suggest you ask them what type of steel they use in their axes and make your decision based on that.

Their gardening axe looks a lot like the stuff out of Bulgaria that is selling on ebay.

The prices are reasonable. If the quality is good then they would have good value.

I'm waiting for an e-mail response from the company to see if they ship to the U.S. If they do, I may buy one of each.

The axe head geometry is all wrong for most USA customers I would think.
There spades and forks look good. There is store a few hours from me that sells the garden tools. Next time I go through there I will have a look.

Found a place in Indiana that had them in stock. I went ahead and ordered one...we'll see how it works out.
