Evaluation & upgrading of Military Fishing Kit

Anyone ever HAVE to use the military pocket fishing kit? How would you rate it? What would you add to it? Substitute?

I've used mine a couple of times. I've augmented it with some heavy duty fishing line. A couple of guys on my team have added parts of their favorite fishing kit but no one has done any major mods. We keep 'em ready for survival situations so, for us, less is sometimes better.

Are we talking about SPEEDHOOKS? IF so, I add more line, some hooks and a few split BB shot sinkers to make a complete kit in the envelope.
