I wouldn't have bought this at all, except it's a cool pattern (cedar?), and only $5-

Also $5. I wonder if my predecessor (Lord rest him) bought the Collins so he wouldn't have to tackle the Plumb permabonding.
 
Cedar pattern. It might look a little different than others but this was a common Plumb pattern.

I supposed the handle on the plumb wore like that from a lot of splitting, don't you think?
 
Yeah, cedar pattern is actually fairly broad. Several variations (including double bits) have been called cedar patterns. They have broad, thin bits that excel in soft woods like cedar.

The pattern we are looking at here is the most familiar "cedar pattern" IMO. Either way, I'd certainly call it a cedar.

Agreed....I'd sure call it a Cedar pattern. No pic of it now, but I picked up a nice Kelly on Ebay, my favorite maker, just because it was a nice Cedar pattern.
