ive got a bit of a ramble here if your as bored as i am...so im hanging out in the man cave browsing the threads having a few brews and some "knife time". you know ive got a few folders layed out on the table...for some quality alone time, when my girl strolls in. after the usual "i feel so fat, i just ate" greeting, (she dosent, she looks great.) she accually noticed my knives! it must be some sort of holiday in pink, fuzzy, bunny land,( im not being steriotypical here, that is accually what she thinks about.) because she started asking questions about them...

now i dont know if your significant other is anything like mine, but if she is she almost certainly gets that glassy eyed look of someone that would rather jump off a bridge than discuss anything knife related. so for her to take a passing interest was for sure, post worthy.

she had seen the buck 110, no girl from the midwest hasnt. shed seen the sog trident, she thinks its "cute". now what she hadent seen, or more accuratly, hadnt paid any attention to, was the gerber 06 fast, and the pride and joy of my edc/collection my ZT 0400.

i suppose it was more of a financial question than one of a pratical nature that led her to ask what the difference between a 50$ knife is and a 120$ one is but i was more than happy to show her some of the obvious traits.

"notice the blade thickness between the gerber and the zero tolerance hunny?" that ones huge!" she replied. you can guess the knife she was referring to. "a blade that big needs to be backed up by a serious lock babe" i continued. "see how thick that liner is? see how perfectly it lines up with the blade?"now take a look at the gerbers piston lock, see how little that thing is in there?(you can see the lock bar inside the handle) "uh huh" she replied. now i can see im losing her to the obvious draw of youtube "fail" videos or chatting with her sister for hours on end about absoluty nothing, so i opened up the vid of my most recent purchase, kershaws jyd 2.2! "wow that clip thingy is pretty!" she said. but i think she still likes my ZT the best. now thats a woman with some good taste.

thats my story. so how about it, what does your significant other think about your ZT?

Pics of your significant other or didn't happen.

My significant other had never heard of Kershaw when we met. *sigh*

But he now carries the 1620FL I gave him everywhere. He claims it's the best knife and the only one he'll ever need. He'll tell anyone who will listen why it's so good and that it's USA made and explain why it's not considered a switchblade (something I had to explain to him in the first place). I've tried showing him bigger fancier ones, but he's a city boy and just rolls his eyes.

Glad to hear your girl is showing a little interest. :)

Very cool. My girl (in my avatar for those who say pics or it didn't happen :) ) could care less about my knives, pool cues or guns.

I guess that's a good thing for me.

My wife is the typical girly girl in many aspects but she does keep a zt0561 in her purse and when she isn't wearing a dress at work she carries a masters of defense Harkins triton d/a otf in her pocket for " opening letters and stuff"

Lol, my wife isn't as interested in my knives a she is how much I spend. I recently gave her a black dlc leek for her own edc and while she likes it, she probably still doesn't understand my rekindled obsession with them...

My wife is in my sign pic with my kiddos, sitting by a freshly killed hog if that tells you anything. :D

My girlfriend calls my zt 0350 And my blur my "whale knives". I guess that is a testament to ken onion's organic design style :)

My wife doesn't have a huge interest in knives. She mostly glazes over when I start talking about knives, and is always asking me why on earth anyone needs so many knives. She does keep a pink Izula in her purse and a pink Kershaw Leek in her pocket though.

I got my wife a pink benchmade and she wouldn't even touch it. She will shoot my smith and Wesson though. Weird.
