According to the literature the LB series has the heating elements on the side only and not across the back. So if you scoot a blade tip all the way to the back you don't have to worry about excess heat on the tip.

There is already a temperature gradient from heat loss at the door, and heating elements at the back exacerbate the issue. The LB model is designed to help mitigate that problem.
Thanks guys. Sounds like the LB is a better option. By the time you add all the options it's pretty close in price to the KO/KF. They are going up in price on the 1st so I need to stop putting it off and get one.
