Is it normal for it to take 2-3 hours for the oven to get up to 1525? I was attempting to heat treat a couple of blades tonight and was using the Evenheat oven for the first time. Somehow, I managed to figure out the Rampmaster 2 control enough to set it to 1525 and I waited; and waited and waited. Finally got there, but it took FOREVER. My oven is the 18.5" deep model, BTW.

You need to set the ramp control to 9999. 1525 should take about 40 minutes once you get the ramp set right.

When I run my ramp temp all the way one direction I get a "FULL" ramp designation. Make sure you don't have it set for XX many degrees per hour?
Also, Dan, while it's heating up, open the door quickly and check to see that BOTH coils are red. If one is burnt through or disconnected or simply not working, it will still get up to heat, but will take about as long as you described. I've been there.
Like both Ray and Nathan said, it should take about 45 minutes.

Full Ramp is quicker to program in then 9999.
Full ramp is 1 push of the Button Below 1 degrees.
9999 degrees is 9998 degrees above 1 degrees.
Both Full and 9999 degrees achieve the quickest temperature rise that the machine can give.

If you have the 110v, like I do, it can take a very long time to get to temp, especially in a cold garage in Maine.

I never set my Paragon to heat up quicker than 1,000 f. an hour, thinner areas of the blade can over heat if you try to hurry it up.
