So I'm researching ovens, and I'm looking into the evenheat kf 22.5 or 18 with the ramp master controller. I would like a paragon, but price wise this seems like a better option for me right now. How are these for those that have them? Also, can you temper in these ovens after heat treat? I'm trying to learn what I can about them. Is this a good choice? Thanks.

I have the ko 22.5 with touchscreen. Love the oven but you have to let it cool down after hardening to temper, usually a couple hours.

I have had my Evenheat kiln for 10 years, no problems. One important ting is to let it cool with the door closed or you will shorten the life of your coils.

yep mines like 12 years old replaced the temp probe and have a back up coil case one quits working might rebuild it. wish i woudl have got the 22once and a whiile. when i upgrade its goiong to be the 27 i think or a custom build with the rampmaster i have

So the 22 would probably be a good choice? In case I wanna do a short sword or something! I just hear a lot about paragon. But the cheaper price on evenheat is much more tempting. I'm selling off some busses for this!!!

Get the biggest one you can afford. You can do small knives in a big oven but you can't do big knives in a small oven. I have had my Evenheat for about 4 years with no problems.

I have a evenheat and have been very happy with it so far . I would say 4 years anyway. Good thing with either oven you can get parts .

I have the 22.5 with the TAP control and love it. Only had it a few months but no regrets.

I have a 27" model that I've had since around 2011.

Zero problems.

If I was buying a oven I would get one longer then you plan on using and keep the blades away from the back wall and door. I built mine and was able to build it just how I wanted and I'm very happy with it. It's 31.5" long and some times I wish it was longer lol. But I really like that length. I notice that close to the door seams cooler. Don't know by how much but it's expected as it's not as well insulated. The longer oven allows me to put the blades in the oven nice and far for a nice even heat. Even if you don't plan on doing swords I would consider somthing longer then the short knife ovens. I love the tap controller on my oven. There are some features that I wish it had but that's the great thing, it gets updates like twice a year from the manufacture.
