Evening up the bevel on both sides of my blade?

I've been working a bit with my big Cold Steel Bowie Machete, and started to look real close at the bevel grind on both sides. One side was uneven as all get-out, by at least a quarter inch. I went to work with a file and a bit of sandpaper, and so far have made progress, but the blade is 18'' long. I wanted to try and find someone on the forums that has a belt setup, so that I can pay you to take some of this off my hands. Anyone interested?
