After a great visit with BF's own famous JonnyMac at the tavern, I wanted to work out the bubbles from my club soda prior to going back to the corporate apartment where I stayed for a week. I asked a bar patron where to go for a nice evening walk, and he told me just down the road till it ends. It was a nice way to spend the remains of the day.

I walked along the shoreline, in search of some good photo ops. This is what my camera captured. Hope you like the pics. It was about 65 degrees, and there was but a slight wind, if one at all.

Interesting seed pods of a Eucalyptus species. My wife liked that one. I knew she would. I am influenced greatly by her camera eye.

This one's for you Trent.

If anyone does not know what undulation means, look at this road, it defines the word.

Beauty in the mud, I find it. IMO anyways.

Birds in the bay remained aloof, maybe they knew I was a republican behind the camera.

OK, of course I check my bag and I bring knives, even if I am flying. My co-workers think I am a nut for doing so, I concur.

Bottom, small Case Texas toothpick, from Sonny at 2 Brothers forum knife giveaway. Thanks again my friend!
Wharncliff whittler bulldog brand purchased from Mike Latham at Collector's Knives dot net and the one knife that is always faithful, and never leaves my side. My BM Griptilian. I really love that knife, it eats cardboard boxes for snacks.

great pics.. that is a cool area.. we were over that way not too long ago.. :)

it was a gorgeous day today, here in Santa Cruz.. we pretty much spent the whole day outside...

A few last parting shots, it really was nice to meet JonnyMac and visit his home town. I found out after talking to my mom, my dad used to hang out in Pinole with a few Navy buddies. He was familiar with the town, now I am too.

When I saw this view, I thought it would make a good jigsaw puzzle.

I saw Mario and Luigi jumping in here to warp world, I went to chase them but they closed the tunnel. I was too slow to get the pic. I am sure no one believes me.

The color contrast of this little weed was incredible.

That is me, is that my good side, or my bad side? You tell me.:D

Cj, you took some really great pics of our little piece of the bay shoreline. They look awesome. You also caught the tide just right for viewing, when it gets too low, you're looking at 400 yards of mud, which is also a very bad time to bring a golden retriever down there(TRUST ME!!)

Really glad you enjoyed the visit, because I did too. Thanks for reminding me how nice it can be down there:) Glad you got home safely, and I'm looking forward to the next time some of your equipment breaks up north so you can come and visit again!:p

Thanks for the compliments Jonny,
I guess I was lucky with the tide being in. I got a little muddy trying to get close to those dern birds. They always flew right before my shot.

For a lot of years I lived in Vallejo, which is just across the bridge and I never knew that Pinole had any such place to take a walk. Maybe they didn't when I was in the area.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing.

Trent, check out this link about the story of a gun battle along the banks of Pinole Creek in the late 1800's between some outlaws and the local sheriff. Pretty cool quick read:thumbup:

Those darn "flapping sarape's"!!!!
LOL

Cool story
I love stories like that:thumbup:

I'm gonna read more about Pinole history
I don't know a whole lot about it
I know a lot about Concord history............

Shhhh!

Stop spilling the beans about how really nice a place N. CA is!

Let's let everyone keep thinking how much CA sucks so people will stop moving here! ;)

btw, beautiful photos.

Reminds you of Mario, ehh? That is the first thing I thought of when I saw that!
