I did just the other day, was looking for around a 6" knife and handeled the dpx heft 6 inch. To me its a great blade handle 8s comfortable feel very light and quick in the hand 5mm thick and near full flat grind of sleipner tool steel. Not much to say bad about this blade just love it.

Please fill me and others in on your "love at first sight" knife!

Benchmade Rukus. Unfortunately, I didn't grab it when I had the chance and now I know only unrequited lust.

Emerson Mini CQC-15. I knew I wanted one after first seeing one in a gun store glass case. Ordered one online and started carrying it for work. I absolutely love the size and how it carries. The 154CM sharpens easily and takes a good edge for my needs. And I would have never imagined that a tanto blade shape would be useful but I have used it many times to skin back the outer sheath of cables at work. This knife is tough, locks up tighter than any knife I own, and just gives me the confidence to use it hard. There is no doubt in my mind that this knife will stand up to any task I throw at it. The more I use it, the more I enjoy it. I love this knife.

Loved the Cold Steel Spartan, zt 0550, and the zt 0566 when I seen them. After buying them all and handling them, the zt 0550 is my favorite overall.

I always liked the ZT0550 but not a lot. I bought it and ended up loving it so much I ended up getting a scale, standoffs, and an LBS for it. Its the only knife I have ever gotten a scale for. Its also probably the only one I'll never sell, and if I do, I'll keep the scale and other parts then get the third gen. model and add the parts to it just to have the steel lock face :D

Bingo ! I remember that one years ago and himing\hawing about getting it. Then it was gone. Actually today despite all my larger knives, my favourite is likely the ESEE Izula 2. I've had plenty of lust at first sight, that's why I have a pile of blades that rarely get used. :o

Absolutely. My Spyderco LW Manix 2 w/S110V. Very lightweight so that I can carry it in gym shorts or shirt pocket. Great steel. Outstanding blade shape and usability. Easily the most practical, and user friendly, knife that I own. It is almost always in my pocket around the house.

My ZT 0770CF & my BM 940-1 are both great knives as well and see my pocket much more often than other knives. Since I purchased these 3 knives, the rest of my collection see far less use.

I will also add the ZT 0801CF, which is an absolutely beautiful knife. Or my Brian Tighe custom Nirk Tighe in bronze. Or my Northwoods Fremont Jack in Mammoth Ivory. Or my WH with a gold and silver bolster & black pine scales. Or several others that are beautiful in design and function but don't get as much carry time as those 3 mentioned above.

I guess I'm just a knife slut. So, so, many are love at first sight. :D

I suppose that my favorite is the Spyderco Sage 2. Every time that I pick it up, I marvel at the full-sized grip, the great 3" blade and the solid grip provided by that nice blade/grip/ricasso design. It's a great knife.

i think this above statment is really a good feeling when each time you pick it up you feel appreciation for it.

It took a little while, but now that I've used it quite a bit, the 0770CF is becoming one of my favorites.

But the knife I truly fell in love with at first sight was the BM 707. It was clear to me the moment I first handled it that it was gonna be the best smaller EDC knife I owned. And it still is:thumbup:

Really though, this question is inherently flawed. I love virtually all of my knives. That's why I still have them:)

Spyderco Gayle Bradley, Manix 2 CTS-XHP, and Para-military 2.

The Gayle Bradley was instant. The other two took a while to grow on me, especially the PM2. I put it up for sale right after I got it as I didn't like it. Lo and behold, its now one of my faves.

In the last year, I've bought and sold many knives. The only one I regret selling is the Strider SnG.

My spyderco leaf storm! I can't even bring myself to use it. Guess I need to buy another 1 as a user.

My Lionsteel M7; 7" of beautiful satin loveliness and the most incredible machined G10 handles I've ever seen.

You really must see one in person to appreciate it. It's so pretty I want to buy two, one to use and one to keep pristine!
