I found out today that Mr. Poplin has sold his business to four knifemaking gentlemen. I talked with them and was impressed with their genuine friendliness and helpfulness. They seemed like great guys to do business with. They do not plan on changing the way Pop did business and look forward to working with us they said.

I always enjoyed swapping lies with Pop and his sweet wife when I stopped by his place or talked on the phone with them. It seems Pop has turned his business over to some very capable guys.

Yea there's a few threads on this.
Received my first two dozen belts from Pop's the other day. Probably get a counterbore and some corbys from them soon.

I put in a large order 2 days ago and it arrived today. (I'm in Michigan) Shipping speed was always decent with Pop's but this was way better. I think they're off to a good start if you ask me. If they continue to have great pricing and customer support like always I'll be continuing to give them my business.

yes, for the past 3 or 4 years. my orders are usually a couple hundred dollars, and they have never been out of stock on any item so far. impressive.

I've been buying from James (Pop's) and Kay for close to 20 years. Not a nicer pair of dealers in the country. The new owners have big shoes to fill. I will meet the new owners in six weeks, along with Jim and Kay.

I placed an order 5 days ago, I got a confirmation of order, but nothing since then. It was a couple of folder pivots and belts for my my odd size 1x42 grinder that I use for shaping handles. I'm assuming the belts are the hold up, but I don't know.

We are pretty lucky to have a number of good folks supplying us with the materials for our crazy little hobby. The Poplins have certainly been among that group of good guys. I wish these young lads from North Georgia the best of luck in their new endeavor.

Just an update, I placed an order over the weekend, delivered today. The same GREAT service.
