Being a bit lazy here, there must be a thread that covers this. But any way, have you ever found a damaged old knife that was too good to throw away that you've managed to fix up. I have and here they are. I've rehandled both, one in oak and one in camel bone. I've also managed to replace the lost main blade on the bone one and am very pleased with the result. Well worth the effort, I think. :)

Good job. I LOVE hunting vintage knives that are screaming for a second chance. Blade replacement, deletes, scale changes etc, anything to give an old work horse another shot at see some pocket time is awesome by me. Love seeing others doing it as well.

Thanks to all for your likes and nice comments. I'm clearly not the only one interested in breathing new life into these old timers. Be nice to see some more examples..:);)

Shoot Ill start. Dont have many pics but I went on a TL-29 craze for a bit and redid a handful of them. All screwdriver delete and most of them got new handle scales minus the WWII era which kept its wood.

This one is my absolute favorite and is likely #1 in my entire collection simply because of the re-handle. The bone is gorgeous AND it has the best in hand feel of anything Ive ever owned. It has become a "worry stone" or sorts lately.

There are some on here that are beyond impressive with their abilities but I enjoy breathing life into users and then continuing to use them so the rougher look/patina works by me!

I also mod'ed a TL29... Kutmaster with a broken screwdriver, which I thought was a perfect excuse to tear it apart... I was pleasantly surprised that I got it back together again, into a workable knife.. these are very close to the same size as the GEC 15 boy's knives....
