Ever forget a knife you ordered?

One of my new year's resolutions was to slow down on knife buying a bit. As it turned out I have bought more this month than ever before. It's almost like part of me is saying slow down and the other part is saying "slow down on knife buying? I'll show you!"

Back to my title though. This month has seen a custom Pat Crawford Bob Kasper Commemerotive, a ZT0650, a Kabar Bull Dozier, and though not a knife, it still fits in, a iTP C9 flashlight.

This morning, more like noon, I get set to go out and get a paper and a cup of coffee. When I open my door I see that UPS has paid me a visit. At first I can't even guess what it is, when it suddendly dawns on me that I had ordered a ZT0300 back at the first of the year and had planned for it to be the only knife I bought this month. In all the excitement of getting the Crawford custom, the ZT0650, the Bull Dozier, and the C9 flashlight, I had totally forgotten about ordering it!

So I bring the package in, delaying my coffee and paper for a bit, open it up and pull out my new ZT0300, shrug my shoulders and say "hell, why not." At the moment I have the ZT0300 in my pocket! I was never a fan of the half and half method of construction, being half titanium, and half G-10, but Kershaw does put a steel liner on the G-10 side to strengthen it and in my hand I can tell no difference whatsoever. I like the wide blade and it came razor sharp, in fact the entire style of the knife meets my approval.

Now, for my question. I can not be the only one to have forgotten about a knife being ordered. Who else here has done the same, and what was the knife?

i was on tony bose waiting list for a few years, forgot all about it. he called and i got the knife.

Ordered a couple of Leatherman Waves and a Buck (Either a 110 or a 112) and got it about a week later and I thought they were free until I realized I was missing some money.

I just got a spyderco BUG (the new keychain folder thing) in the mail today and I still don't remember buying it. I checked my ebay record and it wasn't there, so I checked Amazon and found the order. It was a night last week that I was drinking heavily. A fun surprise and it was entertaining figuring out where it came from.

I had three SAK Cadets show up I had completely forgotten about (why three? because they come in different colors...lol) It's always fun to have enough on order to make everyday seem like Christmas!

I've bounced checks and crap because I forgot to put knife orders into the register. Does that count? :)

Congrats on the knife. Ain't true if there aren't any pics though.... ;)

I certainly do not have this problem. Once I order a knife I spend the rest of my days constantly listening for the mailman and refreshing the tracking webpage every 10 minutes.

I have an excel spreadsheet that tracks my online orders, the date of the order, amount, and a comment field for date received.

This way I can make sure I get what I ordered.

X2 lol, I can't wait for the mail man to drop off any new gear and open it!
