Ever get a fixed blade and the sheath dulls the blade?

I've experienced this three times now twice with the Cold Steel secure ex sheaths and today with my new CRKT. I understand the knives that I'm referring to are cheap, but I have a CRKT Folts Minimalist which costs $20 and the sheath is fantastic. I have to send back my CRKT RSK MK6 and I'm pretty bummed because I was looking forward to the knife coming out and I really like it, but that darn sheath ruins it completely one because of the blade dulling and two because it rattles.

I just had to tell you guys because I'm sure some of you can understand being disapointed by a knife that you looked forward to. So my question is have any of you had this problem?

A dull knife is useless and dangerous and that's why this one is going back to knifecenter tomorrow because even if I did sharpen it the sheath would dull it again.

I can't stand the plastic black sheaths that most fixed blades come with. I forget the material, very popular here. It dulls everytime blade goes in or out.

I prefer leather, quality made sheath.

For my kitchen knives I prefer wooden sheath/saya.

I believe the plastic sheaths that are reinforced with glass fibers are the ones that dull the blades. I never paid that much detailed attention, but I can understand your feelings. How quickly were they dulled and is it strickly when you drawl the knife from the sheath?

Just looked it up, my sheath is kydex.

I am looking for leather maker to make me one, kydex looks and feels cheap.

It dulled in a few hours just from taking it in and out of the sheath.

I don't mind kydex or zytel, but it's the sheaths that are injection molded that dull blades from my experience. If anyone knows more about how sheaths on production knives are made please feel free to correct me or add something.
