Ever get a "wrinkled" guard?

Working on a small knife and am using a 1/4-inch 0-1 guard. It's hard to see in the pic, but I got a small "wrinkle" in it next to the side of the blade. Any remedies? One thing though, the guard is not coming off -- I couldn't take it off if I wanted. Should I just not worry about it?

BTW -- the guard is unshaped, that's not the finished look. :D

Michael, All I can say is, if you don't like it, then fix it. You the maker, are responsible for your own work and you don't want something out there that you know isn't the best you can do. Nice looking blade.

Thanks -- I'll try to figure something out on it. I'll probaby try and pull the guard off because it bothers me quite a bit. :grumpy:

What Bill said. It's almost impossible to fix problems on the front/back of a guard, when it is assembled.
Take it off, and put it on the disc grinder.

Yeah, take that guard off. And, while you have it off, use some stainless or nickel silver instead of the O1. Unless you are going to blue the O1. A blued guard looks pretty cool. :)

Can you tape the blade off well and carefully sand the guard end of the joint down. I've done this with blades before(it's hard to see the wrinkle in the pic)it just takes a h*ll of alot of time and care.

Thanks everyone for the help, I think it's fixed. I took a piece of micarta and some "sticky" sandpaper and slowwwwwwwwwly rubbed it down.
