Hello. I'm trying to get some info from collectors/or users of Steve Corkum custom knives. I would like to know the quality, fit, finish, that type of thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have never owned one or held one. If you would rather PM me or email me that would be fine. Thanks, Aaron. hotrod_kelley@yahoo.com

Steve Corkum is a not so proud member of the BFC Hall of Shame...do not under any circumstances send him any $$ at all. Your best bet is to avoid this knife maker all together. see the hall of shame link ...HERE

from what i have seen some of his stuff looks ok, i wouldnt want any of it though, if ya have a problem and send him the thing back for repair/etc ya might not ever see it again, not to mention sending him $$ for a knife, if ya do that i wish ya luck odds are ya are gonna need it..

i agree with ren, avoid this guy, other folks make knives in that style just as well/better at about the same price and wont steal from you to boot.he has such a bad rep among collectors i dont know that ya can give his stuff away, i have seen some stuff for sale for months with no bites, it was priced right too.

THANKS guys. I remember seeing something here about him(not to good either) I just wanted to know of the quality of his work. Thanks for the replies, Aaron

just to add to the negative replies, a good friend of mine was badly ripped off by steve c. i would not even think of buying one of his knives.:thumbdn:

Though I don't think Steve Corkum should be supported in any way, his knives are pretty good. If you are looking at a used one for a good price, you will probably be happy with it. You may get a cool reception if you are ever looking to sell it. His reputation is known far and wide.

Hs knves look good, but I remember seeng some of them at a well known dealer's who complaned that there were rusting problems with them, and the ones I was showed certainly seemed to. I don't know why that would be, but there are so many good makers out there who are also gentlemen, I personally wouldn't support someone who isn't.

agree with keith, imho thats the saddest thing about corkum, he coulda been a player, a lot of his stuff is really pretty good, if he woulda played it straight with folks he coulda made a living making knives imho, & a darned good one too!

too bad he's a scumbag.

Probably because all the ones I've seen of his are 1050.

I agree with everyone here. Other than finding one at a show to look at, your best bet is to check with one of the online dealers, such as knifeart, bladeart and new graham knives. Between the 3 of them and some other deakers, they have some corkum knives at reasonable prices. If you order from any of these dealers, you will receive the knife you order, on time.
