The chisel is a back layer tool on some of Victorinox's largest 91mm knives (none in my collection).

Have you used it? For what, and with what success?

I've used it to carve wood. Instead of using the tip of the blade for finer, accurate work, I use this. Anything that needs a strong yet controlled carving tool, I use this to great success.

I've also used this to successfully punch a hole into my finger. :P

I used the sharp corner on it to open up my skin to dig out a splinter. My blade didn't have enough of a point.

Not very often, and it's been years since. My only clue that it has been used at all is scratches on the blade and a small chip out of the edge. I think that was in connection with a plumbing fix, but damned if I can remember more than that. I have actually used it less than the hook. :o
