Look what I just got in the mail today. Makes my Fenix F1P even better. And I thought you couldn't improve on perfection.
Flash-stab-pommel tactic.

Deathshead,

That looks really great! Do you have a link to where you got that strike head?

Thanks,
Jeff

You can buy this at tadgear.com for about $25 for the strike bezel only. TheKnifeCollector, I'll let you know how it feels. I got it last night around 8 PM. I am sure you are curious to know if it will be stabbing my thigh!

I'd be interested to hear how it feels, too. I know that lots of E2Ds get returned or exchanged E2es for that reason.

Does it match color-wise? I don't care for the set-key mounting -- it looks like it will mar the finish of your light if you decide to remove it.:thumbdn:

OK, a short review. First off, I don't wear tight pants at all. Not overly baggy, just comfortably loose. I wear my keys with the flashlight in the pocket and my keys hanging out. Take note that the F1P is a very compact light. This addition doesn't add much the the thickness of the light. I had a E2D and it did bother me sometimes like when I was sitting down, I would have to adjust the light so that it wouldn't jab me in the thigh. But since this light is so short, I (so far) haven't had the same problem.
Spyderknut. It is placed on with flushed screws. The screws may mar the finish. The flashlight is a Type III anodizing, so it will take some abuse. Take note that this flashlight was meant to be on many peoples keys, so it will be scratched eventually buy your keys or coins. My flashlight has some scratch already where the ring is in contact with the light. And I only had my light for a few weeks now. If you are worried about the finish of your light, I would put this thing on and commit on having it on all of the time.
Color-wise, it isn't an exact match. The bezel is a shiny black and the flashlight is a matte black. Looks fine though. Like its suppose to be that way. Doesn't ruin the look at all. Improves it in my opinion. Tadgear has bezels that fit other lights like the green Surefires. The bezels are black, so it looks kinda weird on some lights.
Another thing. If you guys are intersted this website also has some for other models. Forget which models, but I think mostly larger lights: http://www.gggaz.com/
Nothing like piece of mind that can be forgotten until you need it.
Its a key-per.

Hey deathshead, does it affect the beam pattern at all?

I ordered a L1P today. I think the TID would really kick butt on the L2P since it is more Mini Mag-Lite sized. Thanks for the pictures. It's nice to see some pictures of things other than the ones posted by the merchants.

It gives the side-spill a star pattern, but the center-beam us unchanged. Thanks for the kind words.

I currently use a GG& G TID that was originally made for the Inova X5 on the head of my Fenix L1P. With some very thin plastic shims fitted into the interior rim of the TID, it press fits onto the L1P perfectly! Screw down and you' re good to go. The higher teeth count on this all steel unit is cut in a way that they actually point inward slightly. I have carried this in my pants/ vest/ coat pockets without any annoying nor wear marks on my clothing. Those TAD Gear units look pretty good. I think I may get one to try out. Thanks for the info.

I thought there might be some shadows around the edge, which is no big deal as long as you don't lose too much spill. I wonder if those were made by GG & G because they look a little different. Equally effective looking, just different.
