Sometimes I wish I could take certain elements from one knife to add to another knife which has other elements I like...thus making the perfect knife.
Anybody else ever have two knives which both had strengths and weaknesses and want to combine them for perfection?
One of mine for instance involves two generations of sng's. I love the all black generation 4, but also love the thicker scales and hinderer found on gen 6's. Wish I could meld the two!

I wish that all the time. A 710HS with the price of an opinel! :jerkit:

I can't believe we have that smilie! :jerkit: :jerkit: :jerkit: :D

I wanted a 710 blade profile in a 707's size, but I have long been disappointed.

:jerkit: That really is a good smiley. :jerkit:

I hot glue and I hot glue, but they never stay together.

Man, I've dreamed about getting a couple of my Spydercos with Axis-locks. That would be a really nice morph.

I would very much like to have the blade shape and steel from my Chris Reeve Shadow 7”, and the handle from my Chris Reeve Neil Roberts. I think that this would be the ultimate CRK fixed blade.

We can all dream, can't we?

I asked myself this once and then I did just that with my Spyderco Salt 1. I took two Salt 1s that I bought and took them apart. One was new and one I got used here for like 20 bucks. One is serrated and one plain edge. I reprofiled them to a point like the one I love on my Delicas. Then I rebuilt the body with titanium liners and screws including the pivot pin which is now adjustable, and discarded the FRN altogether. I reused the blade and lock bar and the pin for the the lock bar. On the new body I put the choil I love from the Calypso Jr. and combined that with the 14mm opening hole of the Salt blade with the non sharpened serrations above the hole for grip. Combine this with the tip up carry and blade shape of the Delica.

So I guess in effect I morfed a hand made folder, and the best of the Delica, Salt 1 and CJ all into my one folder where I can change out the blade to a Spyder edge or a plain edge depending on my mood. I added the lignum handles to it to add some character like the old sailors knives I had when I was young. It is a real comfortable knife in the hand and sees a lot of pocket time. I've really become fond of the H1 steel thanks to this folder. I always loved the CJ but the smaller opening hole of both the CJ and the Delica was hard for me to go back to once I got this Salt 1. The only way to get the best of all three was to come up with this one. It ain't the most beautiful gal at the ball but it gets the job done.

ALL THE TIME! There are so many knives out there that are just part of what I look for. Then I see another that has the other part of what I'm looking for and if I could just put those two together WHAM! the perfect knife. It's especially true with folders. Fixed blades I can find nice ones that serve all my needs all day.

I'd like to put the SRKW Rat Trap's blade in the Spyderco Manix's handle. That might be my perfect knife.

I want Spyderco and Victorinox to build a Chinook grip and blade with the additional tools from a WorkChamp added. :D

I second dcfireman, the busse and the folder, combined, inducing infinite, INFI bliss... Though I'd also think highly of an endura/light saber, combo... :)
