First item on my list: get $395!

What a beauty. Makes my wood handled / leather scabbard katana look pretty plain jane in comparison.

the handle still needs a little work, but the curve is much much better. This, ladies and Gentlemen, is almost what I'd call a tachi.
Not bad at all.

Now that I have been using the twin to this sword in my forms for the last week I highly recomend it.

The photo makes the handle seem to have a prominate bulge but it actualy fits the hand very well.

Also as i ahve been doing my forms out side in the sun ,the Elk antler does not slip at all and has a soft feel to it.

I do a 2 handed Chinese form so the weight is not a problem.

This is not a one handed sword.

Enjoy
Alan

Thanks for pointing out the blade curve Danny. If they keep making the blades like that, I will have to get one someday.

I didn't know at first why it looked better than earlier versions, but you hit it, I think.

Ok, bear with me but what does a curved handle in relationship to the curved blade give you? I don't wield too many swords but have been saving pennies for a Katana so I thought maybe can knock my coconut and give me some enlightenment.

Just a more traditional (Japanese) shape. That's all. More pleasing to the eye to many as well.

Steve

the japanese style sword ( well most curved swords) have a curve that is continuous through to the pommel. The HI katanas have curved up to the handle and then curved the other way. They ought to be one smooth curve from the tip of the blade to the bottom of the handle.

Well...until recently anyway, eh?

Danny...in all seriousness, have you ever considered that there may be an alternate form for such a design?
