Everlife Flashlight?

I saw that commercial on TV recently and wondered the same thing. Sombody (other than me) should by one and let us know. ;)

i had one similar in design to the one mentioned. there is a magnet inside and some coiled wire and a storage capacitor thing. Shake it like your girlfriend is away for the night and the magnet zips back and forth and you get light for a bit. The LEDS use very little juice. The one i had was poorly made and but maybe this one listed here is better....

I have on that looks just like it (mine is yellow but they had the see though also).

Mine is labeled "Forever Flashlight", it works well but the switch broke after being dropped about two feet, I got a cheap switch from Radio Shack and replaced it (required soldering) and now it is not water tight, the original switch is a magnet that slides outside the body and makes two metal things touch to turn it on, I had to perforate the body for the new switch.

I've one of the smaller ones. It works ok but doesn't stay brightly lit very long (decent light for a minute, possibly two) so you've got to keep turning it off and shaking it. It won't recharge whilst switched on. The bigger ones may last a little better.

I don't want to order one of TV, but there is a store near my house that sells them, I might take the plunge and see.

I'd love a review of it if you do purchase one... Cool idea... no battery flashlight :D

I had a play with one of these as a "demo" model in a local Makro Market ($2 store).
Looked a bit cheap and nasty, and the light produced was fairly dim.
It would probably be OK for lighting up your front door to fit your keys or similar, but I wouldn't rely on one in the bush.

BTW, I liked the way Woodybushman described the method of shaking the flashlight, it is, to say the least, ahem .....suggestive :D :D

if your looking for a long lasting light......try the eternal light series....its no joke when they say it will stay lit for about 28 days at 24hrs a day!!!

has @ 10 brightness levels and runs off 3 AA batts......will float w/ liths in it

A friend of mie bought the Nightstar CS flashlight which is very similar to the one in the add. His is very well built and seems pretty tough. It works pretty well, but the light is not too bright. What can you really expect from a single LED light though?

In complete darkness it is fine to light your way or rummage around in your tent or home for things.

I kind of look at it as the opposite of my Surefire, which is super bright, but burns through the batteries.

After trying one out I am thinking od purchasing one.
