So I was checking on a property I maintain and decided to stop by my local knife shop that was in the area, which I generally avoid because of their prices. They always have a nice collection of sprints and discontinued models, but always priced at full retail or more. I have been looking for a Yojimbo 2 for a little while, but everyone seems out of stock and they had one. They wanted $189 and I offered $120 and we finally agreed on $135, which seemed fair. I have been on a Wharncliffe binge lately and this is like angel honey. Love this knife.

Now I just realized that I have way too many Spyderco knives and might need an intervention.

This is the greatest spyderco in the lineup in my opinion. Good choice! Not the greatest price but not bad either. Enjoy!

Love the Yo 2. I have a pair of them in case I lose one!

I love the Yo2, just wish there was more handle on the rear of the handle.

I love mine..

Everything else is getting less pocket time because of it.

i feel like this is one I need to get in hand...it doesnt scream to me that I have to have it but if it was in hand I think it would.

Better for the bank account if I dont hold one!

Been looking for a new one for awhile.....I know if I waited etc, could of gotten it cheaper, but oh well.

I was the same as you actually! I had just sold some old Magic cards and stopped by the knife shop in the same mall as the cards store and well, I ended up walking out with a new Yo2! I paid more than I could have gotten online too, but this was just after the Yo2 came out and it was sold out everywhere :p Plus it's good to support your local knife shop, helps keeps them in business and all that jazz.

And it has been one of my favorite EDC's it;s a cardboard cutting fiend!

So I was looking up the word Yojimbo in my 1918 edition of Kenkyusha's Japanese/English dictionary. It is Yojin-bo......Not making a point, just interesting how words change.

And a good Korusawa film.

There's also basically "Yojimbo 2" by Kurosawa as well: Tsubaki Sanjuro

In certain situations with Japanese language 'm' and 'n' are interchangeable. (When there's no vowel following.)

I really WANT to like the Yo2. I could care less about the self defense aspects of the knife, but I like the blade shape and the ergos. BUT, and this is a big BUT, the compression lock pinches the CRAP out of my hand when I open it using the spydie hole. A couple times it either broke skin or left a blood blister. I have about a dozen other spydies with compression locks, and none of the others do this.

So.. it's currently sitting in my "Sell or Trade" box waiting for me to start a sales thread.

One wicked blade.....congratulations on your spydie. Some of the best purchases I've ever made were on a 'whim'! Can't think of one that I've regretted.

The yo2 is one of my absolute favirites. The compression lock bit me the first few times I opened it. You just have to use the thing and get used to modifying your opening. I haven't been pinched in a long time.

Enjoy the awesome blade!
