Hey everyone. I am 17 and trying to build up my edc and was just wanting to know what blades everyone else is carrying (including multi tools, fixed blades etc.) Right now the only blade I carry regularly is a spyderco delica 4. I am trying to integrate a multi tool but am still working on that part. Any suggestions/examples would be appreciated.

If you just want to see what everyone is carrying check out the edc III thread but most allot of the guys there carry expensive knives and lots of knives. Personally I usually carry the zt 350 and a leatherman micra for a multitool. Or of I'm trying to be a little more classy or less intimidating the case sodbuster Jr and micra, I'm also 18 and going to university so presumably a similar type of situation

Right now I carry a Leatherman Juice eX6, foursevens Quark Pro, and my choice of folder of the day.
Current top most carried folders in no order:
Hinderer Eklipse
ZT 0454
Zt 0801
Boker CF Kwaiken
Spyderco Paramilitary 2, CTS-204P
Spyderco Native 5, CF/S110V

I carry a Spyderco about 50% of the time, but always carry a victorinox Pioneer or cadet along with a classic on my keys.

On my person- today was a kershaw zing ss and a becker 14. In my lunch box was a crkt zilla tool, crkt edgie, opi 8 and in my car was a kershaw chill and a jeff white semi custom.
This seems a little crazy.

I have a black alox handled cadet coming in the mail. Probably gonna be my everyday carry pocket knife along with the delica 4. Maybe will add a leatherman squirt or micra

I will suggest that reading more and using search more, and opening threads less might be a more efficient approach. You probably would hav noticed the EDC thread savage99 referred to. Its 100 pages of answers to the questions you keep asking.

Reading it would be educational.

The Delica and Cadet are both excellent. I think each are among the best choices for a light EDC folding knife & multi tool. In fact I have both in my pocket right now.

My folding knife is usually one of about 10 different blades, most of them Spydies, with the Cadet in the small pocket of my Levi's. I tried the PS4 Squirt and other than the pliers and file, the Cadet beats it hands down. To be honest in almost a year I never used the file and only used the pliers once. Most days I could probably get by with just a Cadet and leave the folder at home, but I won't.

I think the delica is all you really need. If I wasn't so addicted to buying more knives, I would happily carry just a delica everyday

Still building my rotation, but for now it is either my pm2/tenacious for jeans or my swindle/dragonfly2 for slacks. I also have a classic on my keychain. I'm eyeing an sak or a leatherman juice for a pocket multitool. I'm sure I'll end up getting both down the road.

Your Spyderco is hard to beat as an EDC knife. For a multi-tool I would have to add my vote for a SAK. Personally, I like the Wenger Standard Issue (with bail) but the Victorinox Pioneer is the same basic knife in civilian dress, easier to find, and can be had for a little better price. Any Pioneer based knife would be good ( Farmer, Electrician, etc). The highly recommended Cadet is the same idea except it is slightly smaller in size. Both knives have reasonable prices and are well made. If you want to go a little more "tool heavy" I would have to recommend the Leatherman Wave or Rebar.

You should also consider another knife for your EDC collection. A small, simple non-locking knife with a blade that is under three inches. Many places frown upon "tactical" knives, so a small folder of this type fills the need for a blade when your other knives are not legal to carry. It can also double as a dress knife. Many companies produce at least one knife that would fill this sort of need.

A SAK is a great multi-tool to pair up with a modern locking folder. The Yeoman and Super Tinker are a couple of personal favorites. If you need pliers, the Leatherman Wave or Charge are both good. The Skeletool is a nice and slightly easier to carry Leatherman, although it has a much smaller tool set than the Wave/Charge.

Agreed.

I love perusing EDC picture threads. Great way to get ideas.

For instance, also check out these two threads for EDC knives over at EDC Forums:

Lots of examples there as well :)

At a minimum, I EDC a medium to large folder, a small fixed blade, and a multi-tool. Today, for example, I had with me a ZT 0770CF, a L.T. Wright Patriot, a SAK Cadet, and a Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit. And just in case, I have a BRKT Bravo-1 in my bag.

This is from a couple days ago and, again, it represents my basic formula of a folder, fixed, and MT:

My typical EDC:

Victorinox Executive SAK

Victorinox Swisstool Spirit

Spyderco Pacific Salt SE

Buck 301

On work days, I also carry a Spyderco SE Tasman Salt. I wear cargo pants, and don't clip the Spydercos to the pocket, but carry them, clip and all, down in the pockets. So other than the Vic Spirit on my belt, you can't tell I'm carrying any knives. I own much higher-end knives, but these have become my EDC, some of them for 5 to 15 years, the Buck 301 for about a week. They each serve a purpose, but if I needed to, I could get by with one knife; I'm sure my dad would've shaken his head at my amount of EDC gear. But some knives/tools just do some things more efficiently than others.

Vic Farmer and whatever GEC suits my eye that day. Mon. - Fri. I add a LM Surge. Been looking for a locking one hand opener for a while now. I'm too picky I guess. I want something tough but not super overbuilt. Way too many choices.

In addition to a knife, you could consider dropping a Gerber Shard on your keyring. It's small, much more unobtrusive than a full multitool, and gives you a bottle opener, philips/flathead driver, and something for light prying other than a knife. Oh, and it's like 6 dollars.
