So, thanks to my wife and mother in law and karma, I will be leaving the comforts of home in Pennsylvania, to drive 10 hours to south carolina for vacation. Just in time for hurricane irene to destroy everything. So, now is a good a time as any to make sure my "survival" kit is updated. So here is the blade im taking with some accessories, along with a bk11 edc, just in case the fit hits the shan. My wife has already said "what the hell are you packing that for?". well then she can find her own camp when everything is wiped out.
My modded LE KABAR BK10 Crewman, in a 1st gen Esee 5 sheath.
The contents of the sheath including pouch
My 3/8 firesteel fits so well in the notch i made
my firesteel and my tin. I glued a piece of 1000 grit sandpaper to the top of the tin for a crude sharpening system
another angle to see the sand paper better
Open
The contents:
Cotton balls
vic farmer
5/32 allen key
18 ft of fishing line wrapped around a key, and secured with blue tape
6 fishing hooks
one fishing lure
There is still some room in the tin and in the pouch. anything else i should bring to make the kit complete? just threw this sucker together tonight. Lots of fishing products, even though i suck at fishing with a pole and beer and a boat, but ya never know.
