There was a rumor that a package was on its way from UK, a quick trip to the P.O. proved it had arrived!
It was a goodly-sized padded envelope, and sure enough, it was chock full of goodies!!
Museum booklets, souvenir Sheffield post cards, depicting old industrial scenes, and street life. A good quality map of the area, a book on water wheels, a giant penny from the late 1800s, a Sheffield Rose pin (future knife shield??), and a Real Lambfoot knife from A. Wright!! Look familiar??

That's Wright . . .errr right! Jack sent me his beloved Real Lambfoot!!

How can I ever thank you enough, Jack?? Quite a sacrifice for a friend! Of course now I am in a bind, Jack. You see, I already had a knife from A.Wright! Now it's a collection, and I may have to seek out some more!!

This knifery makes one crazy! JK, JK of course, but it is a nice coincidence.
I am guessing these knives are 6-7 years apart. The stamps are different. I wonder if the "son" has anything to do with them; questions, questions . . .
Thanks so much Jack!
It is an honor and a pleasure to have a Real Lambfoot, especially this one!

A wonderful gesture from one great guy to another. Thanks for sharing it with us, Charlie

Very nice. Nice Ettrick, too. I'm currently trying out the lambsfoot as a new blade shape and as a one-blade jack (almost as new to me).
(Would the Sheffield rose be the Yorkist rose from the famous wars?)

I would love to see that curved blade made again. I don't think I have any actual use for it, but is just cool.

Very Cool Charlie! You are most fortunate.
That is quite a pair to draw too!!

Congratulations, Charlie, and good on you Jack!!!!

The generosity on this forum is a constant reminder to me how the world should work, if it was a perfect world. Brotherhood!

Carl.

That is such a beautiful collection, Lyle. Curved blades are well represented there!

Those two A.Wrights are well finished for working knives. They are not flawless in the finish department, though they are close. But they work and feel flawless in the hand. Lovely secure snap, and snugly fitted blades. Each is a pleasant tool to hold and behold!

Very much appreciated, Jack! That Lambfoot certainly engenders respect for Wright and Son's work.

Very nice gesture from gentleman JACK for sure...Is that knife (electro vibro?) etched....I have a couple of old butcher knives that look very similar in execution......FES

Glad the package and the Lambsfoot arrived Charlie, you're a very worthy recipent and it makes me happy, and honoured, to think of you carrying 'my' knife.

The quality of the Arthur Wright knives varies I'm afraid, and I was lucky getting that one, but hopefully I can find another sometime. I have a load of pics of the knife I may post up as I won't be able to put them in the EDC thread now.

The rose is indeed the Yorkshire Rose :)

The Ettrick is still a very common pattern here, and all the Sheffield cutlers make one, think it's popular with gardeners.

Thanks for all the kind comments fellers, I feel very honoured to be part of this warm and generous community.

Jack

Fes, it does look "electro-vibro" etched under magnification.
Like a thousand pin-pricks!
