Been waititng around for my AR uppers to come in and made the mistake of going into the local gun shop to "look".... bad move.

Some folks may say it is like putting a racing stripe on a wheelbarrow (or should I say shoes on a pig), but this not a bad GI 1911.

Rock Island, Diemaco... a Colt by any other name... What you've got is essentially a Phillipino Colt with Busse shoes. Nothin' to be ashamed of. But you may want to get a Wolff spring set, and maybe a few Wilson/Les Baer/Ed Brown drop-in parts just to be absolutely sure.

BTW, I've never heard any complaints about RIA as shooting tools. True, there are better looking pants weights...

I have the same Rock island, never have had a problem with it fuctioning. Shoots straight. The only problem with it is the sights. They are like a small nub stuck on the slide. I need to get some nice night sights on mine. I even put the black and tan grips on it. GOOD taste man. Here is a crappy pic before the Busse pimping!!
