I hope you all have been watching the ASH vs Evil Dead, it's a modern classic for all you Evil Dead and Army of Darkenss fans. Quite a good Series where creative control and final cut are in the hands of Sam Raimi and not "The Man". Any who on to the battle .
The blades are almost identical it's like when Ash in Army of Darkenss had the evil head grow out of his shoulder.
The spine is exactly the same the edge is a little different. The ASH has a little more belly and about 1/4 more cutting edge due to the large finger groove on the Trash. Also the grinds are a bit different. The Trash has a lower bevel ( I think that is the word) giving about 1/3 of it untouched and at the full thickness. The edge portion is also a bit thicker as you can see the part that was actually sharpened they had to grind more material to get it sharp. On the ASH blade there is only about 1/5 of the blade that is at full thickness. The Trash is front Heavy while the ASH is much more balanced. The grips are completely different as you all know. So who is the winner.
Handle - ASH - more comfortable, rear finger groove makes it less likely it will fly out of your hand and just down right pretty.
Blade shape ASH and Trash - Ash will be a better slicer , Trash is a little more beefy. Drop point the best shape in my opinion , I would swap the blades if I could.
Steel- both SR101
Looks - ASH just pretty, the other one looks like Trash :applause::black_eyed:
Price - Trash about 1/2 -2/3 of the price of an ASH ash depending when you bought it.
Winner ......... Ash Williams of course! He always kills the Dead'ites , that and myself because I have both
I like the ASH better because of the handle shape and the full tang true beauty , but the Trash at its price v price would win 9/10 times in the woods I believe. It only weakness would be if you had to use the knife as a step or pry open a welded car door.
I got a slightly used Trash off the exchange picked it up yesterday and last night while cleaning the gutters of rotten leaves I was on the roof some Evil possessed Tree branches came after me . My sidekick cousin promptly tossed me the Trash and I made quick work of the Demon branches that were trying to throw me off the roof. Hack hack , slice slice and limbs were dropping to the ground. Not one evil twig was left.
All the while the ASH1 was sleeping wrapped up and put away unknowing of the battle on the roof. She is just too pretty to put in danger.
How awesome would it be if Ash killed a bunch of demon dead'ites with a ASH or ASH2?! Jerry get an ASH over to Starz !
